Regulable COS cell expression systems

Abstract

Novel strains of ts-COS cells are provided, capable of being transformed at the restrictive temperature by SV40 replicons, methods for obtaining such cells, and expression systems using such cells. After transfer to the permissive temperature the transformed cells can be induced to excise and amplify the replicon up to approximately thirty fold.
